Help India Innovate (HII)

Help India Innovate (HII) is a joint venture initiative between Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and National Innovation Foundation (NIF). This will be a national level initiative between CII and NIF. The implementation agency for this will be GIAN (Grassroots Innovation Augmentation Network). GIAN is currently based in Ahmedabad. The scope of GIAN is being enlarged to look after the entire western region and similar GIANs will be set up in various regions of the country.

The objective of HII will be to provide a channel for innovators to tap into the resources of the CII members and for CII to make use of the innovations. The motto will be ‘leadership through innovation’.

To start off this cooperation, a core group is being set up to create the framework. Efforts are on to involve a number of potential partners CEOs and associated individuals involving them in shaping up the HII.

NIF and GIAN will bring the innovators’ network into this partnership. The involvement of CII will bring:

CII will involve individuals who would commit a certain amount (maybe 1 hour a week) of time to the initiative.

CII member will help innovators develop prototypes for their ideas/innovations.

CII members can help in evolving a network of resources, skills, and opportunities for the innovators. CII can also pool in its resources in problem solving.

An incubation fund will be setup with the help of CII members.

CII members themselves will eventually become a market for these innovations.
