To
strengthen innovation-based enterprise in India, a workshop of Centre
for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), IIM-Ahmedabad,
called ‘Inventors of India Workshop 2006’ commenced on Wednesday.
Innovators from grassroot and formal sector came together to display
their projects among which were air conditioner that saves 40 per cent
energy and as much cheaper from local market, brass iron that runs on
LPG and switch-operated through mobile phones. The event, organised for
the third time, is also aimed at facilitating an understanding of
national innovation systems in formal and informal sectors. The
workshop may also chalk out a framework for collaborative learning
among these innovators. An online platform to facilitate lateral
learning among innovators is also being planned by CIEE.
Research
and Development organisations like Department of Science &
Technology (DST) and Department of Bio-Technology (DBT) will also
participate in the workshop. |
