The amphibious bicycle is just one of many innovations found by agents of the National Innovation Foundation, Ahmedabad recently covered in a Discovery special.

Anil Gupta, the Indian professor behind the Foundation and a slew of other globally-recognized grassroots innovation initiatives, talks about the perfect marriage of Indian innovation, American investment and individual enterprise in this interview yesterday in Maine.

Gupta is visiting Colby College this week to lead students in a workshop on his philosophies. Threaded through his work are themes of sustainability, accountability, equality and a deep respect for those who face great uncertainty and risk in their livelihoods, like farmers.
